Comet Sound 1.0 Is Out

Comet Sound is out. Six audio plugins and Comet Sound AI, the desktop app, are available from today for macOS and Windows — signed, notarised, and installable without the warnings that usually follow a small developer’s first release.

This is the short version of what shipped: what each tool does, how the licence behaves, and what actually lands on your machine when you download.

Six plugins, one job each

Oxiturn is saturation with a visible curve: you see what the harmonics are doing before you commit to them.

PhoenixCompressor is built for clear decisions and fast recall — dynamic control you can read at a glance instead of guessing.

EimosEq makes technical equalizer decisions visible and editable, so the corrections you make are the ones you meant to make.

Aura handles depth, distance and dimensional ambience through a focused spatial workflow rather than a wall of parameters.

StarChain shapes rhythmic volume directly: draw the curve, lock it to the grid, and let it pump in time — no ghost kick, no compressor doing a job it was not designed for.

Oblivion is a gate for tight, controlled dynamics: cut noise and bleed, and shape the silence between the notes.

Comet Sound AI

Comet Sound AI is a desktop application, not a plugin. You describe what you want from a sound, and it turns that into real parameter moves on your Comet Sound plugins — moves you see and confirm, not a black box that decides for you.

It runs entirely on your machine. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is processed on a server, and your sessions stay where they are. It is part of the Pro plan.

How the licence works

There are two ways in, and they behave differently on purpose.

Buy a plugin once and the licence is permanent: the installer asks for your key the first time you open the plugin, the same key covers every plugin you own, on up to three machines, and two updates are included. Single licences run from €35 to €59; the Orbit Suite Bundle covers all six for €199.99.

Or take a plan, which starts with a 7-day free trial: Base is the six plugins at €9.99 a month, Pro adds Comet Sound AI at €19.99, and both have an annual option. On a plan the key arrives with the first payment, and you can cancel from your account at any time.

What you actually download

On macOS every package installs both the VST3 and the Audio Unit, signed with a Developer ID and notarised by Apple, for macOS 11 or later on Apple silicon. On Windows you get the VST3, signed with Azure Trusted Signing and timestamped, for 64-bit Windows 10 or later.

Every package publishes its SHA256 next to the download, so you can check that the file that arrived is exactly the file we signed. It takes one command and it is worth the ten seconds.
